This week's mani was requested by the GF. She couldn't decide between having a 4th of July-themed manicure and having a nautical manicure, so we did a little of both!

Gelish Polish 4th of July Nautical

We visited Little Tokyo in LA on Saturday for a single purpose: Japanese Nail Art. And while I didn't find the specific studs I was looking for, the GF found these cute star-shaped crystal studs she decided she needed for her manicure. I also picked up a copy of Nail Up - a MASSIVE Japanese nail art mag.

So. Many. Pretty. Manis.

Those guys and gals are serious artists! They make me want to buy a pallet of nail art supplies.

For the manicure above I did the following:
  1. 2 coats Sheek White on pinky, middle, and thumb
  2. 2 coats Wiggle Fingers, Waggle Thumbs on index & ring
  3. 1 coat Top It Off on all
  4. Thumb:
    • Applied striping tape and 2 coats of Backstage Beauty
    • 1 coat TIO
    • Dotted Foundation where I wanted the studs, set studs, and cured
    • Finished with 2 coats of TIO
  5. Index:
    • Used Sheek White to hand-paint the anchor design
    • Finished with 1 coat of TIO
  6. Middle:
    • Applied striping tape and 2 coats of Backstage Beauty
    • Finished with 1 coat of TIO
  7. Ring:
    • Dotted Foundation where I wanted the studs, set studs, and cured
    • Finished with 2 coats of TIO
  8. Pinky:
    • Used Backstage Beauty to hand-paint the heart
    • Finished with 1 coat of TIO
