Spring-y Easter Nails

This one's a little late, but still worth posting! My coworker wanted another shot at spring nails, and this time? NO BLACK! So I picked some bright spring-y colors to put on her from last year's Love In Bloom collection
I've been kinda poo-pooing cutesy Easter nails, the ones with little bunnies and chicks. But then I bonded with a Michael's employee over nail art and she had the CUTEST little chick in an egg on her nail and I was like, okay. That's cute.

For the yellow I used my favorite go-to: Gella 'Lily'. On the thumb I used 2 coats of Arctic White and then layed down two chevron vinyl stickers and painted the yellow chick. I added Pinch of Pepper to the white parts and used Sweet Morning Dew to make a tiny little beak. The index finger is Lily with foil. On the middle finger I used the chevron nail vinyls to create the little egg design, painted with A Mint of Spring and All Dahlia-ed Up, topped off with Lots of Dots. The ring finger is A Mint of Spring with studs and the pinky is All Dahlia-ed Up topped off with Too Tough To Be Sweet.

Vegas Pizzaz Nails

My roommate's mom and and dad just celebrated their wedding anniversary, and as part of that celebration the whole family went to Las Vegas for the weekend. But before going, her mom and sister stopped by our place and let me spruce up their nails ;)
First up, her sister wanted pink and chevrons. I'd actually bought some chevron nail vinyls, but they didn't get here in time so I ended up hand-panting the chevrons! I used Folk Art black Acrylic paint to create the chevrons, then once I had the design I went over then with a thin layer of Black Shadow to try to smooth and seal. I used A Petal For Your Thoughts (one of my FAVE colors) then asked her if I could improvise a little, and I added a Pinch of Pepper accent nail and a couple of stud that I felt pulled the mani together nicely. I really love this one! (even though it's on the simple side for me ;)
Next up was her mom. When they told me she needed sassy Vegas nails I immediately thought purple and zebra stripes. I used You Glare, I Glow across her nails and used Black Shadow to hand-paint the Zebra stripes. I then used a mixture of craft store glitter and Am I Making You Geish? on her middle finger. I mean, it's Vegas, full of drunk assholes... better make that middle finger sparkle. ;)

Gelish Matte Top It Off And Trends Polish Take 2

I picked up more Gelish Trends polishes and have swatched them up! I had REALLY wanted to pick up the new Gelish Foil Nail Art kit, but I called 4 different Sally's in the area and NONE of them had it. Once I get my hands on one I plan on writing up a full review with pics. :)

Additionally, my lady requested a black matte manicure inspired (alright, straight up copied!) by one she saw on Pinterest.

By Sun Dancer at SolensDanserinde.blogspot.com I was able to use the new Gelish Matte Top It Off. I love it, so, so much. Her manicure is just 2 coats of Black Shadow and one coat of Matte Top It Off.
The Gelish Trends colors I picked up are Pinch of Pepper, Concrete Couture, and Feel Me On Your Fingertips (check out my Life of the Party swatch here!) A Pinch Of Pepper is AWESOME. Look at it on the black - it just turns into white polka-dots (and I'm sure it looks like black polka dots on white polish). It isn't glitter, really. It's more like confetti, I guess. It kind of reminds me of an eggshell or Robin's egg.

Concrete Couture is a lot darker than I thought it would be. It's loaded with a very, very dark silver/grey glitter. It reminded me a bit of Showstopping, hence the comparison swatch.

Lastly is Feel Me On Your Fingertips, a goooorrrgeous glitter purple. I wish I owned Princess Tiara, because I think it'd look AWESOME over that color! In retrospect, I bet it'd look pretty good over Cocktail Party Drama... should've swatched it over that one!
